A Taste of Wise: A Wise County, TX Community Staple

Last night, the family and I went up to Decatur, TX for the 14th annual Taste of Wise, the iconic event showcasing Wise County restaurants and small businesses. We have gone nearly every year since they started and plan to attend every year as long as they continue.

The annual Taste of Wise event is made possible by the Wise County Chamber of Commerce and many local sponsors.  It is an exceptional value at only $15 per person for admission. That admission price gets you the ability to sample offerings from many different Wise County restaurants. There’s food of all kinds, drinks, and desserts. If you’ve ever wanted to try out a restaurant but just haven’t gotten there, you can attend this event and get a sample from multiple restaurants all in one location!

Along with all the food and drinks, there are also multiple local businesses in attendance, showcasing their products and services. You can stop by each booth, learn a little about the business, meet the friendly faces behind the business, as well as pick up a few free promotional items, like pens, koozies, and more. And if all of that was not enough, there’s live music, as well as drawings for free gifts.

The event is normally held in late August each year, so be sure to follow the Wise County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, so you’ll be one of the first to know the date next year! You can buy your tickets online or at the door, but either way, don’t miss out next year!
